Cheesy Bacon Smashed Potatoes

  • 10 ounces (2-inch diameter) small new potatoes 
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil 
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt 
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse black pepper 
  • 1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided  
  • 4 sliced cooked bacon, chopped 
  • Sour cream 
  • Chopped fresh chives 


  1. Pierce potatoes with a fork and arrange in an even layer in air fryer basket. Cook on 350°F until potatoes are tender, about 20 to 25 minutes. 
  2. Place potatoes on a cutting board. Using a 2-inch flat surface, press down to smash each potato. 
  3. In a large bowl, stir together potatoes, oil, salt, and pepper. 
  4. In air fryer basket, arrange smashed potatoes in an even layer. Set air fryer temperature on 400°F. 
  5. Turning halfway through cooking, cook 12 to 14 minutes, or until potato edges are crispy. 
  6. Place potatoes on a serving platter. Top each potato with 1 teaspoon cheese, bacon, sour cream, remaining cheese, and chives. 

Serves: 4-6
